Reed S. Minkin / Advisory Member
Reed Minkin joined McCranie, Sistrunk, Anzelmo, Hardy, McDaniel & Welch in 2018. Reed represents clients in tort litigation, including trucking, auto, and premises liability lawsuits, worker’s compensation claims, construction defect matters, asbestos exposure, insurance coverage disputes, and bad faith claims.
With more than two decades of experience handling all aspects of litigation, Reed is actively involved in all steps in this process, from pre-suit client counseling to loss investigation, taking and defending depositions of witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives, brief writing at the trial and appellate levels, communicating with experts, participating in alternative dispute resolution when appropriate, to preparing cases for trial, and everything in between. Reed enjoys the “detective work” in developing and strengthening defenses for a client’s case.
Reed has extensive appellate experience, including drafting appeals and writ applications to various Louisiana appellate courts and Louisiana’s Supreme Court. Reed has also argued before these courts with numerous successful outcomes for clients.
Reed graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1997 with a B.A. degree in Sociology. After graduation, Reed moved to California to attend law school at Santa Clara University School of Law and graduated in 2001.
During law school, Reed was an Honors Moot Court semi-finalist, and he also served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Ronald M. Whyte, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California (San Jose division).
Reed is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Texas. Reed is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, the United States Eastern, Middle, and Western District Courts of Louisiana, the United States Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit, all Texas state courts, and the United States Southern and Northern District Courts of Texas.
